Child care scholarship program
At Child Care of Southwest Florida we believe in strengthening and enhancing the lives of children and their families. The way in which we serve our community the best is by providing child care scholarships to children from working families who cannot afford tuition costs. What kinds of families do we help?
- The single mom who’s attending college but cannot afford child care costs.
- The family where one parent is battling a painful disease while the other has to work full time while neither of them can care for their children.
- The single, working parent whose stay-at-home spouse cannot care for their children due to incarceration/drug addiction/alcoholism.
- The family who has already been told “We can’t help you due to insufficient funds” by another childcare assistance entity.
How to donate, volunteer, or sponsor our non-profit
As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, we simply cannot carry out our mission without your help. Through your donations, volunteer efforts, and sponsorship dollars, we are able to provide our students with high-quality early learning centers where they are more likely to become productive citizens in later life. If we are to continue making a positive difference in the lives of those we serve, your involvement is crucial.

Child care in Ft Myers, Lehigh Acres, LaBelle, & Clewiston
We believe that kindergarten is too late to begin educating children in our community which is why we offer six preschools/early learning centers/child care centers, with three in Fort Myers and one in Lehigh Acres, LaBelle, and Clewiston. We believe that children learn best in a play-based atmosphere. That is, "play" comes naturally to a child, so our teachers make efforts to find activities that interest our students (such as dinosaurs) and then help them learn in the process.
While our preschools are all accredited by the National Accreditation Commission, offer voluntary pre-kindergarten (VPK) classes, provide after-school care, and serve nutritious meals…each of them are unique in their own way. For example if you work long hours and you need a center that can accommodate your busy schedule, Messina Children’s Center in Fort Myers stays open from 6:30am until 11:30pm! If your family has low income and you appreciate the benefits that come along with our Head Start program, then Harlem Academy in Clewiston is a good option. The Community Children’s Center in Lehigh Acres and P.A. Geraci Child Development Center in Fort Myers both accommodate infants as young as six weeks old. CLCFSW is conveniently situated on the Fort Myers campus of Florida Southwestern State College. Children’s Garden of LaBelle has that small town, community friendly type of atmosphere.
