AROUND THE CENTER

Thursday, March 29th We celebrated our Easter Egg Hunt!

The Easter Bunny was here hiding eggs, hopping and greeting the children and their parents.

We would like to give a shout out to all of the parents for coming out and helping make our Easter Egg Hunt a success!  Thank you to all the teachers for helping to make sure everything runs smoothly!

Special thanks to our CEO Ms. Carol Conway for helping to make this year’s Easter Egg Hunt a memorable experience!!  We couldn’t have asked for a better Easter Bunny.

FIELD TRIP

disney on ice.jpgFriday, April 13th The 3 and 4 year-old children will be going to the Germain Arena to watch Disney on Ice.  We will be leaving the center at 8:30am and the show is scheduled to start at 10:30am.  We will be back around 3:00pm.

We are looking forward to having a wonderful time!

PARENTING

STRESS AWARENESS MONTH

Stress.pngWe all know moms and dads get stressed out and need some "me" time.  But kids can get stressed out too.  Make sure they have plenty of time to de-stress with both indoor and outdoor activities that engage their minds and bodies.  Talk to them frequently to check in and make sure they're really doing okay.  Slow down and savor time with your family with important, yet simple, ways to make the most of your quality time.

NUTRITION CORNER

Apple Crisp

Nonstick cooking spray
4-5 medium apples, center removed, sliced
¼ cup quick-cooking oatmeal
¼ cup flour
½ cup brown sugar (or ½ cup regular
sugar)
1 tablespoon cinnamon
¼ cup margarine

Directions

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
2. Coat the bottom and sides of a square 8x8-inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.
3. Spread apple slices on the bottom of the pan.
4. Cut the margarine into small pieces and put in a medium-sized bowl. Add the oatmeal, flour, sugar, and cinnamon.
5. Use two knives to “chop” the margarine into the flour mixture until it looks like small crumbs. (Use two table knives in each hand. Pull the margarine through the flour mixture in opposite directions.)
6. Sprinkle the mixture over the top of the apples.
7. Bake in the oven for about 20 minutes.

EARTH DAY!

Earth Day.pngApril 22th is a very important day for everyone who inhabits this planet.  Every day, we are becoming more aware of the affects of global warming.  Teaching your kids the importance of Earth Day is the first step, as they will be our legacy and the caretakers of our  planet in years to come.

Harlem garden 2018The children from Room 9 have started their Spring vegetable and flower garden. Go check it out or take a look of the Facebook pictures!
