Florida Child Care Professional Credential (FCCPC)

Child Care of Southwest Florida Professional Development Center has been licensed by the Commission of Independent Education and approved by the Department of Children and Families to offer the Florida Child Care Professional Credential (FCCPC) course. The FCCPC, formerly the CDAE, requires 120 class hours and candidate documentation comprised of a Professional Resource File and Formal Observation. Students completing the FCCPC are eligible for the state Staff Credential and they may use this course to apply for the National CDA credential.

Class

All CCSWFL instructors are highly qualified in early childhood and meet stringent criteria established by the state. Class discussion, assignments, field trips, and hands on activities are included in the course. The instructors are available for assistance and support if needed and perform Formal Observations before classes are completed.

New FCCPC classes starting soon!  English course starts September 21 (every Tuesday from 5:00-7:00 pm),Bilingual course starts September 22 (every Wednesday from 5:00-7:00)

Student MUST have a High School Diploma from an accredited school approved by the Department of Education.

Child Care Mandated Training

Child Care of Southwest Florida, with the sponsorship of the Department of Children and Families, provides the child care mandated training for child care personnel and family child care home providers.

The child care training department is also responsible for the administration of the competency-based exams that are required in order to complete the training courses.
We provide training and competency exams in counties Lee and Glades.  

If you need accommodations because of a disability in order to participate in the child care training program, contact the Education Department at least two weeks prior to the first training date at (239)278-0160 between the hours of 8:00 am -4:30 pm. Calls will be received Monday through Friday.
