Community Engagement

Highlight of the Month

More than 20 employees and family members of United Mechanical’s residential air conditioning division recently participated in a United Way Day of Caring. The team spent the day cleaning up planting beds and installing a drip irrigation system for Child Care of Southwest Florida’s Joseph H. Messina Children’s Center in Fort Myers.

Child Care of Southwest Florida is so grateful to United Mechanical for their help and volunteerism to the cause. Special thanks to United Mechanical employees Jill Moreland and Don Pine for their project management.

About the Messina Center

Our Messina Center is home to a community garden with fresh vegetables, which has become a full circle learning tool for our children. They have learned about sustainability, healthy food, teamwork, and the importance of fruits and vegetables. By becoming engaged in nature, the children are able to see how bountiful surroundings contribute to a healthy diet and a healthy mind. The Messina Center is a nurturing, supportive environment with a passionate staff that loves to see their students thrive.
