Noah, Biera and Anobi, FGCU students chose Messina for their senior project. The students visited Messina, and then met as a group to put together the project details. Noah, Biera and Anobi weeded the gardens and filled them with planting mix and weed cover. They planted seeds and worked with the school age children planting tomatoes and peppers. The project will be passed onto the next group of FGCU students. Look for ripe tomatoes and peppers and bring them home for dinner! Garden vegetables and flowers are to assist parents with fresh vegetables and pretty flowers for their dining table.
SUMMER READING PROGRAM
The Lion classroom is planning on having a guest from the library to go along with their reading incentive for the summer. The children have already read over 100 books! We will send more details regarding the date of this visit soon.
This year, from May 22 to August 9, the Lee County Library wants to inspire our community to “Build a Better World.”
