March 2, 2018: Theodor Seuss Geisel was an American author, political cartoonist, poet, animator, book publisher, and artist, best known for authoring more than 60 children's books. In honor of Dr. Seuss, we will be celebrating his birthday. Students may bring in their favorite Dr. Seuss book to share with the class or wear Dr. Seuss apparel.

Repairing-a-roof.jpgMarch 19th-23rd: We are getting a new roof!  It is a big job and therefore P.A. Geraci will be closed March 19th – 23rd.  We want the safest possible environment for the children and staff at P.A. Geraci, so this week long closure is a must.  A new roof is a critical improvement and will help us to continue serving the Dunbar community for years to come.

March 28th, 2018: We need your help! We are having a center wide Easter egg hunt and Easter lunch.  Volunteers are needed to help hide eggs, serve food, help children locate eggs and have fun.  Please sign up with your child’s teacher.  If you’re on scholarship, this would be the perfect event to take care of your hours.

Springtime Chocolate Covered Popcorn

This is a recipe that you can get hands on with, in mixing, drizzling, and tossing in Easter M&M’s. You can’t go wrong with this recipe, because they’re supposed to be a little messy! This is a great classroom snack too, if you wrap up individual servings into cello bags for classmates!

Here are the instructions:

  • March’s flower is the daffodil, which represents hope.
  • The birthstone of March is the aquamarine, which symbolizes courage and bravery.
  • March comes from the name of the Roman god of war, Mars.
  • Spring officially begins in March! It starts anywhere from March 19 to March 21 every year.

Parents if your child is sick please keep them home.  This year’s flu season is not being nice to us, and we want to keep everyone in good health.  If your child exhibits a temperature, fatigue, diarrhea or vomiting please take them to see a doctor before returning to school.

Our Black History program was a success!  Thank you parents for showing your children support.
