MOTHER'S DAY

Remember that Mother’s Day is Sunday May 14th. Make sure you make her day extra special.

A mother holds a special place in the hearts and minds of her children.  Mother’s Day is May 14^th and there is no better way to celebrate than with the whole family.

We’re sure sleeping in on Mother’s Day sounds nice and that having some alone time can make for an enjoyable day.  But doesn’t it sound like a better idea to make this holiday a family day?  We encourage you to get outside and spend some quality time with your kids and loved ones.

SAFE SLEEP CERTIFICATION

The center was awarded a Safe Sleep Certification on April 24, 2017.  All teachers/staff have completed Safe Sleep/SIDS questionnaires and on-line training.

PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES

Parent Conferences are scheduled for May 8 through May 19, 2017.  Sign-up sheets can be found outside your child’s classroom.  This is a good opportunity for you and your child’s teacher to discuss the progress your child has made this school year.  This is especially important for VPK children who are moving onto Kindergarten.

MOVING ON

There will be a "Moving On Celebration" for the children going to Kindergarten.  It will be held on Thursday, May 25 at 10:30am.  The celebration will be held on the center’s playground.  (Bring your own chair.)

Light refreshments will be served.

SUMMER PLANS

What are your child’s plans for the summer?  Will he/she be attending the center with the same schedule?  Do you have a vacation planned? Please let Ms. Andrea or Ms. Martha know your plans so that we are able to schedule teacher’s vacations, as well as plan for food for the children.

VPK children and School agers have been sent a Weekly Summer Camp schedule.  We have asked that they be returned by April 28, 2017.

NUTRITION CORNER

BANANA CEREAL SNACK

Ingredients

• 2 Bananas
• Peanut butter
• 1 cup Cereal (this one uses rice cereal)

Directions

1. First peel the bananas and cut them into thirds.

2. Then dump some cereal onto your wax paper, smear the bananas in peanut butter, and roll the peanut butter bananas in the cereal. That's it! You're done!
