THE "SHARE A BOOK" PROGRAM

family reading blogHere is how it works:

This month you will find a page of cut outs in your child’s family file folder (you will also find extra ones in the front entry way).  Please take as many as you want.

Every time you read a book to your child, write his/her name and the name of the book on a cut out and present it to your child’s teacher.

At the end of the month the classroom with the most cut outs in each age group will win 2 new books for their classroom library!

Happy Reading!

PAJAMA PROGRAM

Parents, during the month of November we will be participating in the pajama drive to help provide pajamas for children living in shelters, group homes, foster care and other organizations that support at-risk youth.  Our classrooms will be competing against each other to see which classroom can bring in the most pajamas. The class that wins will receive a pizza party!

Please have all donations into Megan or Jessica by Friday, December 14th. Thank you so much for participating in this great cause!!

Pajama ProgramHere are some simple guidelines for the pajamas:

  • Pajamas must be brand new. Pajamas in all sizes are needed.
  • Pajamas must be in complete sets or nightgowns.
  • Pajamas must be manufactures as pajamas to ensure they are flame-retardant and safe.

EDUCATION IS A TEAM EFFORT BETWEEN BOTH PARENTS & TEACHERS

work together1. Stop making excuses for your kids. Let your kids learn from their mistakes.

2. Make sure they are doing their work. Now is the time to learn responsibility. Hold your child accountable and follow through.

3. Cut out the distractions. Limit technology such as T.V., IPads and computers and get outdoor exercise, socialize and read books.

4. Model good habits at home. Kids learn from parents first. Be engaged, concerned and aware.  Model kind behavior and good manners.

5. Work with their Teachers not against them. Working together we can support your child to reach his/her highest potential.
