back to schoolTHE IMPORTANCE OF GOOD ATTENDANCE & GIVING YOUR CHILD SUPPORT IN SCHOOL

  • Good Attendance makes a difference! It improves academic performance and promotes future success. Your child’s number one job at this age is to learn!
  • Good attendance is an important habit. As an adult, you can lose a job for missing too many days of work.
  • Show your child you care. Give hugs and words of support and ask about school each day. Be specific to get a specific answer.
  • Read with your child or have him/her read to you every day.
  • Encourage independence. Allow your child to make mistakes and accept their consequences.
  • Help raise your child’s self-esteem by setting reachable goals and praising your child’s efforts, not just results.

We received 5 STARS AGAIN! It is the highest rating in the voluntary Quality Rating Improvement System (QRIS) used by the Early Learning Coalition of SWFL to improve and communicate the level of quality in early childhood programs.  We were evaluated based on three quality categories:

  • Professional Development and Staff Qualifications
  • Learning Environment and Classroom Interactions
  • Screening, Assessment and Curriculum

We will receive $500 in classroom materials, as well as a complimentary field trip to a feeder school for students, summer activity packets for children, as well as being listed on the district's website at www.leeschools.net

In addition, Joseph H. Messina Children's Center is among only five pre-kindergarten programs countywide to receive the designation of Voluntary Pre-kindergarten Preferred Provider by the School District of Lee County.
