Best Drinks for Families

February 17th, from 5:30pm-6:30pm
Presented by:  SWF Extension Service

Join us for our February Parent Workshop in our initiative to bring healthy foods and lifestyles to parents.  These 15 minute cycle workshops enable parents to attend, receive valuable information and still get home in time for dinner.  We encourage all of our parents to attend to help us help you become a healthy and active family.  We will have samples of tasty, healthy snacks, prepared by the School Age children in the Care Club. Parents may enjoy their delicious snack during the 15 minute training on February 17th from 5:30-6:30PM.

February 17th The Fort Myers Fire Department will be joining the 4 year old children in the Lion Classroom for a tour of the fire truck and fire safety tips at 10:00 am.  The firemen will join the children for party afterwards.  Parents are invited to join us.

VPK to Kindergarten

School Choice is now open for VPK children eligible for Kindergarten this fall.  Your child’s teachers have probably already talked to you about this transition and what needs to be done.  Be sure to ask if you have questions.  We are here to help!

President's Day

Monday, February 20th Our center will be CLOSED for our Annual In-Service Day.

In honor of President's day we've put together few fun facts about presidents:

  • George Washington was the only president unanimously elected.
  • John Tyler had 15 children.
  • Abraham Lincoln often stored things like letters and documents in his tall stove-piped hat.
  • Franklin D. Roosevelt was the first president to appear on television.
  • The "S" in Harry S. Truman does not stand for anything.
  • John F. Kennedy was the first president who was a Boy Scout.
  • Gerald Ford was a fashion model in his youth.
  • After working at a Baskin Robbins as a teen, Barack Obama no longer likes ice cream.

Friendship Celebration

Children will be celebrating our Day of Friendship on February 14th.  Join your children in their classroom for their Celebration of Friends.

What Random Act of Kindness will you do?

Friday, February 17th If you show a little kindness to others it will inspire people to practice kindness and to pass it on to others. Here are some ideas on how to be kind to others:

  • Make someone laugh
  • Open the door for someone
  • Share a toy with a friend
  • Pick up trash
  • Spend time with someone
  • Plant a tree
