cinco de mayoCINCO DE MAYO

Cinco de Mayo is a holiday that recognizes the victory of the Mexican army over the French army on May 5, 1862, at the Battle of Puebla.  Contrary to popular belief, Cinco de Mayo is not Mexico's Independence Day. Mexican independence is celebrated September 16th.

Students and parents take the week to do something to let their teacher(s) (past or present) know that they are appreciated.  This could be anything such as a nice card, an email, a gift card, or a piece of chocolate.  The important thing is that you let your teacher know how much you appreciate their hard work and patience.  Thank you for all you do teachers!

happy mothers dayMOTHER'S DAY

A mother holds a special place in the hearts and minds of her children.  Mother’s Day is May 12th and there is no better way to celebrate than with the whole family.

We’re sure sleeping in on Mother’s Day sounds nice and that having some alone time can make for an enjoyable day.  But doesn’t it sound like a better idea to make this holiday a family day?  We encourage you to get outside and spend some quality time with your kids and loved ones.

Thank-you-EasterTHANK YOU

Thank you to the parents who donated items to our Easter Celebrations and those who came to support their children.  Your participation and presence means so much to your children.

Memorial Day is a day to remember and support all military families who have sacrificed so much for us.  Display a flag, visit grave sites, and show appreciation for the men and women who have served our country.  Below is a link about the history of Memorial Day and things you can do to show you care.
