pumpkin patch

We need bales of hay and pumpkins to create our pumpkin patch at the fall festival.

We appreciate any donations of hay or pumpkins.

trick or treatChildren should always go out trick or treating accompanied by a responsible adult. If you have a group of kids going, the parents should choose two or three of them to go along and keep an eye on things.

Instruct your children not to eat any treats until they bring them home to be examined by you. This way you can check for any problem candy and get the pick of the best stuff!

Instruct your child to never go into the home of a stranger or get into their car. Explain why this is not a good idea and what to do if someone approaches them and tries to talk to them.

Pumpkin Pancakes

Try this easy and delicious recipe with your children.  Cooking together is a sure fire way to get your children excited about food and eating it!!

1 cup water
1/2 cup pumpkin
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice
1 cup pancake mix

In a large bowl combine water, pumpkin, cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice, mix well.  Add the pancake mix and stir just to combine-the batter should be lumpy.
Ladle about 1/4 cup batter onto a hot griddle or oiled pan.
Cook until bubbles appear on the top of the pancake, then flip and cook the other side until golden brown.
Serve with delicious maple syrup or fresh fruit and powdered sugar.

cancer_ribbon.gifOctober is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This is an annual international health campaign organized by major breast cancer charities every October to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure.
